Former Chelsea player Gus Poyet has told Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to give young Uruguayan winger, Facundo Pellistri a chance in the first team.
According to him, the youngster could actually serve as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who is now plying his trade at Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Frustrated with recent happenings at Old Trafford, Ronaldo spoke extensively to the media in a manner a contracted player should not.
His contract was then terminated leading to a mega deal in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
His exit has handed younger players the opportunity to step up under ten Hag’s squad.
Speaking to OLBG, Poyet said, “Pellistri is a right-winger; old-fashioned winger, one-to-one, speed, delivery and assists to the players.
“He likes to work and help the full-back and when he went to Manchester United he was very young and, because of his stature as a not very big player, to get into English football and a team like Manchester United is not easy.”
