Police arrest alleged financier of cult in Delta

Special anti-cult unit operatives of the Department of State Service, DSS, and men of Operation Delta Hawk arrested 37-year-old Chief Joseph Ologbo suspected of being the financier of the Aro Bagger cult group.

His arrest, in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, is coming on the heels of cult clashes in Sapele and Oghara communities.

The suspect who was arrested in a hotel was found in possession of incriminating items and weapons.

The Delta State Police Command confirmed the report in a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

According to him: “When the search was extended to his fully-tinted Toyota Tundra Van, one unlicensed pump action gun, two live cartridges, one expended cartridge, and an Aro Bagger cult regalia were recovered.”

He added: “The suspect has made useful statements and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”
