Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro is rooting for Victor Osimhen’s Napoli to win the Serie A title this season.
The Partenopei last won the title 33 years ago.
Luciano Spalletti’s side are now favourites to win the Scudetto this season after establishing a 12-point lead at the top of the log.
Osimhen has played a pivotal role in Napoli’s campaign despite missing over a month due to injury.
The 24-year-old has so far scored 13 goals in 15 league appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
“The Scudetto would be an extraordinary thing. Because if Napoli win it will be a different thing compared to three teams like Inter, AC Milan and Juventus who used to win it in the past,” Peseiro said in an interview with Il Mattino.
“And, in fact, I hope they can win it.”
Peseiro also heaped plaudits on Osimhen for his exemplary qualities.
“Osimhen is a hard worker and, above all, he never wants to lose. Not even in training matches or friendlies. He is like a child who is always enthusiastic about life. And then he has great human values,” the Portuguese added.
