Nasarawa Killng and false accusations against Gov. Ortom

Last week, some military men conducted an operation in a border between Nasarawa and Benue states, and killed forty three people including some suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Immediately after the operation, some groups which were sponsored by the All Progressive Congress came out with false accusations that the governor of Benue state, Chief Samuel Ortom was behind the military operation which claimed forty three lives.

To spice up their inflammatory statements, the faceless groups said the governor ordered the military operation because of his hatred for Fulani herders.

Too bad. Is Governor Samuel Ortom the Commander of the Army in Nigeria that he would order military men to go and kill Fulani herders or even anyone in Nasarawa?

To set the record straight, the governor has said it many times that he believes in a peaceful co-existence between Benue people and Fulani herders who are in his state to do their legitimate businesses without any hidden plans to kill innocent Benue farmers all in the name of wanting to take over their lands. Why would anyone say that a peace-loving governor like Ortom had hatred for Fulani herders or are they saying that he doesn’t have the right to raise his voice against the people killing his subjects in their thousands?

The accusations by the sponsored APC groups were just out to discredit the governor. The APC people know that they don’t stand a chance to win any election in Benue state again as a result of the hardship they have brought upon Nigerians hence the sponsorship of those faceless groups that are dishing out fake accusations against the Benue state governor regarding the Nasarawa killings.

For the sake of the public, those killed by the Army were armed Fulani herders and not innocent people of Nasarawa state.
