Obi support group accuses APC, PDP of reinforcing ethnic bigotry

Ahead of Saturday’s presidential election, the Peter Obi Support Network, POSN, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of reinforcing ethnic and religious bigotry in Nigeria.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Co-convener of the group, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke said its presidential candidate is dissilusioned that the two political parties could not talk about finding solution to killings and wanton destruction of properties in the nation.

He said they chose to embark on harmful propaganda during their campaigns, which he described as very unfortunate.

Ezeoke said: “We have witnessed growing discontent and the efforts by our decadent political leaders to reinforce ethnic and religious bigotry.

“All of us are disillusioned that our country has sadly been turned into a killing field where human lives are no more valuable, a nation that is now rated as the headquarters of poverty despite enormous human and material resources that God has generously bestowed on this nation.”

According to him, the two political parties are in panic mood, given that all factors that will swing 2023 outcomes would favour Peter Obi, wondering how they would handle the imminent defeat.

The support urged both parties to stop harmful propaganda against the Labour Party and its presidential candidate and stop flagrant disregard to people’s opinion in the manner they have been doing.
