Again, INEC suspends collation of results till 11am Monday

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has once again suspended collation of results of the presidential elections to9 Monday February 27 by 11 am.

The Commission’s Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu announced the suspension shortly after the results of the election in Ekiti state was announced by the Returning Officer for the state.

It would be recalled that the Commission had scheduled collation of results to begin at 6pm Sunday.

He said the reason for the suspension was because results from other states have not arrived at the National Collation Center in Abuja explaining that collation of results would continue on Monday at 11am.

Breakdown of the result from Ekiti state reveals that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubaklar.

According to the result, Tinubu scored 201,486 votes, Atiku Abubakar 11,397 while Peter Obi scored 89,554.
