Cash trapped: Journalist Dies While Trekking To Office

In the early hours of Saturday, an Ibadan-based radio presenter known as Baba Bintin collapsed and died on his way to work.

According to reports, the presenter died on his way to the Fresh FM station, where he was scheduled to appear on a show with the duo of Komolafe Olaiya and Olalomi Amole at Ayefele Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

On market opening days throughout the state and beyond, the late presenter usually relieves information.

According to reports, he was trekking from Amuloko, where he lived, to Challenge due to his inability to obtain cash for transportation to the studio.

Olalomi Amole and Komolafe Olaiya abruptly ended their Saturday morning program Oyin Adun 20 minutes early when they received a call about Baba Bintin’s medical emergency.

The scarcity of cash as a result of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) naira redesign policy has sparked widespread outrage.
