Sudan: GPMI commends Air Peace free evacuation gesture

The President General, Global Peace Movement International, UK Dr. Mike Uyi has commended the chairman/ CEO Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema for his love for country as he offers to evacuate stranded Nigerians in Sudan.

Onyeama, in a statement on Monday, expressed his desire to help, saying Nigeria cannot afford to lose its citizens in Sudan.

The aviation mogul said if Nigerians in the North-East African region could be moved to a neigbouring country, the airline would fly there and evacuate them, as Sudan’s airspace is closed for civil aviation flights.

Everything must not be left for the government alone, especially as the situation calls for urgency and immediate action.

“Again, Air Peace is willing to evacuate Nigerians stranded in Sudan free of charge, if the government can get them to a safe and secure airport in any of the neighbouring countries bordering Sudan.

“It will be a privilege and honour of tremendous pride that we will be out there to give every Nigerian stranded in Sudan a sense of pride and oneness in their country”.

Uyi in a press statement on Tuesday in London said Allen has in several times come to the aid of Nigerians that have been face with one challenge or the other in other countries of the world.

He noted that this gesture of Allen Onyema goes a long way to explain that he is a man with love for all country men without any form of discrimination for tribe or religion.

“This is not the first time Chief Allen Onyema is showing this kind of love to Nigeria. During the South Africa xenophobic attacks. The COVID-19 pandemic in Europe.

“The gesture is a show of patriotism; we hope other well-meaning Nigerian stakeholders will emulate it to help give succour to the victims of the attacks”.

“Onyema’s benevolence is an indication that we can be our brother’s keeper in trying times and we implore other Nigerian philanthropists and business executives to follow suit so that our returning compatriots can be reintegrated into our country conveniently”.
