A viral video on Sunday showed the demolition of houses at Rockview, Ajao Estate, Lagos State.
In the video, a female resident was heard crying about the demolition, stating that she couldn’t bring out her property from the rubble.
She said, “They have demolished my house. I was in the hospital, they just called me that they’ve started demolishing our house. They are demolishing the whole street o. They just came and started demolishing our house. Jesus, I couldn’t bring out my properties.”
The General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency Gbolahan Oki, during a press briefing on Friday, while speaking on the demolition, said some houses close to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport lacked the necessary building permits from relevant agencies.
