I Almost Gave Up On First Day Of Marathon Cooking – Hilda Baci

Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has spoken about the challenges she faced in setting a new Guinness World Record for ‘longest cooking time’ by an individual.

She stated this during a press conference on Thursday.

The chef, who showcased her culinary skills in front of a live audience during the cook-a-thon, claimed she was motivated to accomplish the 100-hour record time by individuals at the event, which took place at Amore Gardens in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

She said, “In the beginning when I started the attempt, I would say the first day was the hardest day, I almost gave up like six times.

“As time went on, my family, my friends, my followers and just the general public that came sort of became part of the dream and the journey. Even when I wanted to give up and I saw how invested people were, it dawned on me that I was not doing it for myself but it was about the people that were there.”
