Fourteen-year old Eleojo Denise Augustine has said she is set to beat the records of an American professional basketball player, Steph Curry.

Eleojo, a Senior Secondary School student at Total Child Model School in the Federal Capital Territory, stated this at the ongoing Under 16 trials for Nigeria National Team Basketball (NBBF) in FCT.

She said her love for basket ball developed when she first watched Curry play in some games, making her believe that what a man can do, a woman can do in the game of basketball.

According to her, everyone has a potential of being what he or she wants, as long as the rightful environment to grow and thrive is there.

She called on government to partner with schools to develop young talents, as that will also make them stay away from negative activities that will not help them in life.

She said, “Nigeria at this crucial period should be more interested in developing young basketball talents and engage them meaningfully for the development of the basket ball in the country”.
