Alia hits at civil servants, sacks over 25,000 unjustly

Apart the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume who has tasted the wrath of the governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia in the first week of his administration, over 25,000 civil servants have just been sacked unjustly by the dismissed Catholic priest.

Although, Alia in a statement this morning said that he dismissed them because their appointments were irregular, Government House sources told Nigerian Concord Newspaper that the governor carried out the unjustly sack of the over 25,000 civil servants in order to cut down the state’s wage bill.

“Despite dismissing the workers unjustly, the state wage bill will still be more than what the immediate past governor was paying before he left office. A big wage bill fraud is about to take place” one of the sources said.

Sources said the governor had been advised wrongly to sack the over 25,000 civil servants by the cabals in his administration even though their salaries will still be added to the wage bill of Benue state.

“With the massive sack of workers by Governor Alia, one expects the current wage bill to reduce by about 30% but the reverse is going to be the case as it will increase by about 40%” another Government House source told our reporter.

All efforts to speak with the media aide to the governor, Kula on his mobile phone proved abortive as he didn’t pick his calls and also didn’t respond to the text messages sent to his phone till the time of filing this report.
