Akpabio Presides Over Senate Executive Session

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday, presided over the Senate Session for the first time.

The former governor of Akwa Ibom State revealed this in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

He said, “After our inauguration yesterday, where my colleagues elected me as the President of the 10th Senate, I presided over the first Executive Session of the 10th Senate today.

“I thank my colleagues for this confidence and trust in my ability to steer the ship of the Senate. Elections are over. It is time for governance.”

The former Senate Minority Leader polled 63 votes to defeat Yari, a former governor of Zamfara, who scored 46 votes in the election conducted on Tuesday.
