Tantita Security Company bags Rotary Club of Abuja Elites’ prestigious oil, gas award

For its ability to help check and secure the illegalities going on in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, Rotary Club of Abuja Elites has bestowed Tantita Security Service Company the prestigious Oil and Gas Unity award.

The Rotary Club chapter President, Barrister Mathew Omosun presented the award to the security company at the Grand Cubana Hotel, Jabi, Abuja.

According to him, the outstanding performance and professionalism of the company on securing the nation oil sector made the security company merit the award from the revered Rotary Club.

He said the activities of the Tantita Security Company has tremendously reduce oil vandalism and illegal crude shipping in the nation.

Omosun said the award is aimed to encourage the management of the security company, that Nigeria has experienced low production of crude oil due to insecurity in the past.

He said, statistic have shown that Nigeria was losing over 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day as a result of pipeline vandalism which runs into billions of dollars.

Omosun said vandalism has huge ecological and social economic impact leading to environmental degradation and claiming of lives but now, the story has changed.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Security Company, Hon. Mere Williams appreciated the Rotary Club of Abuja Elites for recognizing the excellent work of Tantita Security Service.

He said the award will motivate the security company to continue to work very hard.

According to him, he is pleased with how efficiently the company has handled security situation and delighted to hear that the company’s endeavor did not go unnoticed. 

He said Tantita Security and her management are committed in its task to secure the nations oil from any form of vandalism without fear nor intimidation.

Hon. Williams, a former Councillor of Ughelli South Ward 18 Okwagbe Waterside affirmed hope on Tantita’s continued work in terms of providing security which will increase oil production in the Niger Delta Region.

The Award was presented to the company by the Chapter President Barrister Mathew Omosun. Others in attendance were the immediate past President of Rotary Club of Abuja Prestige, Rotarian Barrister Stephen Mere and Barrister Adieze Rowland among others.
