The Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has warned Nigerians against fighting in public.
In a statement released on his official X, (formerly Twitter account) Friday, Adejobi advised Nigerians that such act could ultimately get them jailed.
He tweeted, “We need to remind Nigerians of the offence called affray.
“It means ‘two fighting’ or free for all. This is when two or more people fight in public. Sec 76 of CC explains this.
“The best thing is to avoid fighting in public or anywhere because that fight can take you to a cell or court, and in most cases, to prison.
“Don’t blame the police when you are arrested for fighting in the street, a motor garage, or any public place. It’s an offence. Be warned.”
