The Vice Chancellor of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku together with the Management Staff Registrar, Ms. Olufunke Hudson, Bursar, Mr. John Alaji and the University Librarian, Mr. Jeremiah Salifu today received Prof. Solomon Avidime, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Kogi State Reference Hospital, Okene.
While giving his remarks, Prof. Solomon Avidime who visited CUSTECH, Osara with his team thanked His Excellency Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello (CON) for the creation of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara an institution he described as a suitable learning environment for students. The CMD went on to appreciate the Vice Chancellor for the enormous efforts put in place to start the various programmes already existing at CUSTECH, Osara.
Prof. Solomon Avidime added that the purpose of the visit was to introduce facilities readily available at the Reference Hospital, Okene and looking at possible ways of creating a synergy with CUSTECH, Osara as soon as the ivory tower commences her College of Medicine. In his words, “The Reference Hospital is available to provide all the necessary trainings for the College of Medicine once the institution is ready.”
The erudite Professor of Medicine further added that, “The Reference Hospital, Okene is a world class hospital because of the different medical equipment in it which cannot be found around easily. I want to once again appreciate the Governor for a job well done.”
The Chief Host to the visiting CMD, Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku congratulated his guest, Prof. Solomon Avidime on his confirmation as the CMD of the Reference Hospital, Okene. He prayed for God’s guidance and direction to help him move the Reference Hospital, Okene to a higher level than it is now.
Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku disclosed that efforts are being made to commence Medical Science courses like: Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Laboratory Science and others as soon as the process of accreditation is done. He added that once the College of Medicine commences, the Reference Hospital, Okene will surely be partnered to train the students and to make use of the facilities embedded in the hospital.
The Management Staff of CUSTECH, Osara and the visiting CMD of the Reference Hospital, Okene and his team both toured the vast land housing the university community to see the ongoing construction work at the sites.
