Again, Kogi SDP Woman Leader Expresses Worries Over Incessant Attacks On Women In Kogi State

— Call On Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Remi Tinubu Intervention

The Director of Women Mobilization of Social Democratic party, SD in Kogi State,, Hajiya Mariam Salihu, on Thursday, decried incessant attacks on women at the campaign road show by political thugs in kogi state

The Director of Women Mobilization reiterated the concern at a press conference addressed by the MuriSam campaign Organization led by its Chairman, Col. Suleiman Babanawa (rtd) at SDP state secretariat in lokoja.

She said that sometimes ago a woman was killed at a rally ground in koton-Karfe, another at Ochadamu and another attempt at Ejule in Ofu local government area, according to her, many campaign rally organized by SDP has come under attack in the state by hoodlums in which several supporters were killed or injured.

She said that similar situations had happened repeatedly in various local government areas since the kicked off of campaign in kogi state.

Earlier, the chairman of Muri-Sam campaign organization, Col. Suleman Babanawa (rtd) said that SDP campaign train had been attacked in Banda, koton-Karfe, Ejule and now at Idah-Igalamela and some other places, adding that the development would not dissuade Murtala Ajaka from rescuing the state from the ruling APC.

According to him, SDP resolve to relieve residents of the state of their numerous pains and to bring in a breath of fresh air is unstoppable.

The PDP candidate also decried that the same ruling party once burnt down the state secretariat of SDP in Lokoja and other local government offices in kogi East.

” Some armed thugs attacked the convoy of our Principal, Murtala Ajaka on his way from his campaign from Ogori mangongo, heading to his home town in Ajaka.

“The hoodlums shot sporadically on the convoy of Murtala Ajaka vehicles, it was repelled by the entire people of the communities who saved the live of Ajaka and his entourage”,he stressed.

He also said that such a trend was not healthy for democracy in the country, stressing that they are not going to be deterred.

According to him, the desire to free the state from bondage, and rescue it by allowing the wealth in the state to work for all rather than allowing few person’s, necessitated opposition SDP coming to rescue the people.

“What is happening we do not want it again. It is not good for democracy, but despite the attacks we are moving and still motivated to rescue our people.

“I know it is only God that can give and take, If God gives Murtala Ajaka, no one can take it,” he said.

According to him, We are sad and angry but very law abiding, Kogi electorates are tired and fed up with the dictatorial administration of the ruling party,

We are aware of the antics of the APC, they are attacking supporters of SDP inoder to scare voters from coming out to vote on election day but we are ahead of them”,he said.

” The power of the people is mightier that the gun, and people would over power the oppressors,he noted.

The chairman also revealed that the suspect arrested on the attack on the convoy of Murtala Ajaka at Idah , a police officer, ,has been hand over to the police in Idah and said he expected the kogi state police command to do their investigation and bring the culprit to justice.

We therefore called on police commissioner to call his officers to order, as we are aware that some of them are been used to perpetrate attack on innocent citizens of kogi state.

In his own remarks, the Deputy Governorship candidate of SDP, Chief Sam Ranti Abenemi said the campaign organization would not relent in voicing out their complain, and vowed to continue calling on the security agencies and president Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to rescue the people from incessant attacks by the ruling party.

We once again urged the president to call on the governor to order, according to him, the president had earlier promised some stakeholders in kogi state that he will create enabling an environment for a credible, free and fair governorship election,and we so much believe in his promise”, he stressed.

On the issue of alleged discrepancy in his certificate, he said the APC is out for a blackmail and assured that he shall claim damages at the right time, my school examination was written 44 years ago, it’s just a fallacy , I grew up with my parents who are educationists and disciplinarians, all of us (children) are graduates, so , what game are they up to, he said.
