Kwara Falcons to storm Akure Friday for place in final 4

Kwara Falcons Basketball Club will on Friday storm Akure, the Ondo state capital, to partake in the Nigeria Basketball Premier league Final Four qualifying series.

The Head of Media for Kwara Sports Commission, Feruke Yusuf, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ilorin.

NAN reports that for Kwara Falcons to qualify for the Akure competition, the Ilorin based side emerged tops at the Ibadan zone of Atlantic Conference where seven teams out of supposed eight slugged it out for a place in the final four qualifiers from the zone.

Kwara Falcons led the four qualifiers from the Ibadan zone, haven won five, lost one in the round robin game.

Other qualifiers from the zone are Comets, Hoops and Read, and Oluyole Warriors.

Four qualifiers from the Asaba zone of the Atlantic Conference, Rivers Hoopers, Lagos Legends, Police Baton and Delta Force will join the Ibadan qualifiers in Akure to fight for the two top spots for a place in the Final Four.

The Final Four will comprise the two top sides from the Atlantic and Savannah conferences to determine the champions of the league.

Kwara Falcons are the defending champions.
