Ganduje commissions VIP lodge, 1.7km roads in Akwanga

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has commissioned the newly constructed VIP Lodge, as well as three intra city roads estimated at 1.7km in Akwanga, headquarters of Akwanga Local Government Area.

Commissioning the VIP lodge on Saturday, the APC national chairman, commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for undertaking the projects, stressing that the essence of state creation was to spread development across the country.

According to Ganduje, after developing Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, which was created out of Plateau State, the next in line is to select some big towns like Akwanga.

“You can see how development is trickling down to the people. I am happy for this lodge, completed and fully furnished so that important personalities will come and dialogue, start and discuss issues of development pertaining to this local government area and others under this senatorial district,” he stated.

Ganduje pointed out that the edifice adds value to infrastructural facilities, giving Akwanga a face-lift.

“I’m so happy to be here because of this great, important project. The whole idea of creating a state is for the distribution of development across the country. So, seeing is believing,” he said.

In his speech, Governor Abdullahi Sule said the idea behind the initiative is to construct similar projects in all the three senatorial zones of the state, to comfortably accommodate visitors.

“We have completed the one of Keffi. Of course the lodge in Lafia has been completed and furnished. Akwanga happens to be the headquarters of the Nasarawa North senatorial zone. It is historical for us that you are going to commission three projects in Akwanga,” he said.

Governor Sule said the August guest will also commission three roads namely Dankanzo road, Baba Alago Street and Central Mosque road, estimated at 1.7km, serving to connect neighborhoods in Akwanga.

The Governor explained that the national chairman will also commission the newly built TUC House, wholly constructed by his administration as manifestation of the cordial relationship existing between the government and organized labour.

He said Ganduje will also receive into the APC, Senator Solomon Ewuga.

“That is the idea of bringing you here Your Excellency, to help us and this is very historical for us, that it is the national chairman of our party that is commissioning these projects,” Governor Sule said.

The event was witnessed by former governor of the state, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura, amongst other top government officials.
