2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON): Nigeria’s Super Eagles faces Equatorial Guinea’s National Thunder today

Nigeria, the three-time African champions open their campaign against Equatorial Guinea in Abidjan today at 3pm local time with a team spearheaded by African footballer of the year, Victor Osimhen.

In the Group opener, the tournament host, Cote dโ€™ Ivoire
opened proceedings with a 2-0 victory over Guinea Bissau in Abidjan on Saturday.

Saturday victory is a major step up for the hosts, whose second Group A match in Abidjan on Thursday is against Nigeriaโ€™s Super Eagles.

Nigeria will also face Guinea-Bissau and will have the chance to avenge the 1-0 defeat in a World Cup qualifying match in Abuja.
