GPMI hails military for neutralizing Kango Zubuwal attack

A human rights group, the GLOBAL PEACE MOVEMENT INTERNATIONAL UK, an international human rights organisation has commended the military for foiling another premeditated attack on a Military formation and Kango Zubuwal area of Gusua Local Government Area both in Zamfara state, while neutralising over 70 and arresting over 200 terrorists.

In a Press Statement signed by the group’s President General Dr. Mike Uyi and the Country Director Sam Okereke, and made available to the press in Abuja, the group acknowledged that the military has saved the nation from being thrown into another mourning period, by being proactive this time around, averting the likeness of what happened in the eve of Christmas, when over 200 citizens were killed and others wounded by terrorists in Plateau State.

While the group maintained it was not the time to trade blame, but they insisted that security must have a whole societal approach, implying security was every citizen’s responsibility and as such, citizens cannot take the place of spectators in the matters that affect them the most, stressing that the people has a critical role to play in keeping, surveillance, vigilance and providing timely intelligence to the military and law enforcement agencies.

In order to sustain the current onslaught and completely decimate the terrorists, as the military and law enforcement agencies have vowed, with the support of all, the GLOBAL PEACE MOVEMENT INTERNATIONAL UK has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio CON and the Chief Justice of the Nigeria, Honourable Justice Kayode Ariwoola, to jointly to create the enabling and motivating environment, resources, legislative and legal framework, to bring the war on terrorism to a logical conclusion.

On their own part, the group availed they were on the tour of the nation, mobilizing and galvanising support for the militar/law enforcement agencies and sensitizing, enlightening and mobilizing, the citizens, via road processions and rallies, speaking and sharing flyers informative leaflets, for a whole societal approach to checkmating the menace of terrorism, insurgency and banditry.
