Nigeria vs South Africa: Delta APC Chieftain Dies Watching AFCON Semi-Final

Dr Cairo Ojougboh, a prominent Nigerian politician and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain in Delta State is dead.

Report said that Ojougboh breathed his last just as a penalty was awarded against Nigeria during the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match against South Africa on Wednesday.

Captain William Troost-Ekong had scored a penalty for Nigeria in the 67th minute, but Teboho Mokoena was later awarded a spot-kick.

The equalizer by Mokoena came after Nigeria believed they had secured a second goal through a tap-in by Victor Osimhen, the 2023 African best player.

The Late Politician was the director general of the Coalition for Peace and Unity, and a former member of the federal House of Representatives.
