President Tinubu Approves Establishment of Military Base in Bokkos, Plateau State

Following the attacks that led to the killings of over 200 persons simultaneously across Bokkos, Mangu and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas in Plateau State, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief, Sen. Bola Tinubu, GCFR has graciously approved the immediate establishment of a Military Barracks to be located in Miller Farm (Gada Biyu) Mbar District Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The President gave the directive to the The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa to work out modalities to ensure the establishment of the Military Barracks to address the security challenges being faced.
This approval was made possible through the efforts of Former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Joshua Dariye who facilitated the establishment of the Barracks.

The Barracks when established and operational would provide swift security interventions to address the incessant attacks and killings in Bokkos, Mangu, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and neighboring Nasarawa State.
This is coming at a time when certain communities were sacked, property looted and scores killed simultaneously on Christmas Eve of 2023 in Bokkos, Mangu and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas.
