Two youths die in Cross River mining site

Two persons have been confirmed dead in the process of mining for a precious stone called Tourmaline.

Newsmen learnt that the incident happened at Shikpeshe, along Buya Road in Obanliku local government area of Cross River State two days ago.

The boys were said to have suffocated to death inside the deep mining well.

Three surviving victims, who were seriously injured, are receiving treatment in a nearby health facility.

He promised a comprehensive investigation into the incident, as well as determining the legality of the mining activity.
