According to former Arsenal and Manchester City defender, Bacary Sagna, Chelsea’s Malo Gusto has the potential to be the best right-back in the Premier League.
Gusto was signed by Chelsea from Lyon in a £26.3 million deal just over a year ago and has played more than anticipated this season due to Reece James’ injuries.
The 20-year-old Frenchman has been outstanding in recent games, exhibiting his dynamism, speed, one-on-one skills and all-round quality to become a crucial player for Chelsea.
Sagna is confident that Gusto has all the potential to become the best right-back in the league.
“Gusto is dynamic, fast and good at one on ones. He was doing well at Lyon, and I am not surprised to see him shining at Chelsea because he has all the qualities to be an important player,” Sagna told Paddy Power.
“He has the quality to become the best right-back in the Premier League, if he keeps playing this way for a whole season.”
