Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has revealed why he thinks Thierry Henry “has beef” with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo was Ferdinand’s team-mate at Old Trafford for six years.
Henry played for Arsenal from 1999-2007 before leaving for Barcelona.
But before leaving, Henry played several times in the Premier League against Ronaldo.
Speaking on a podcast, Ferdinand spoke about Henry and Brazil football legend, Ronaldo de Lima, feelings towards Cristiano Ronaldo.
On Brazilian Ronaldo, Ferdinand told Andreas Poke: “There’s beef there somewhere you know. It’s because of the name. I think because of the name, as if he says, ‘You took my name,’ so I have a problem with you.”
On Henry, Ferdinand added: “It’s the same with Thierry [Henry]. Thierry is the same. The way I see Thierry talk about Cristiano, it’s more what he doesn’t say. He doesn’t talk about him with any zest or spark.
“It’s like he’s downplaying Cristiano a lot. There was a clip at Highbury when Henry slaps him on the back of his head or something like that and Cristiano pushes him off.”
