Ongoing construction of Akure-Ado road unsatisfactory – Umahi

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed disappointment over the state of work on the ongoing construction of the Akure-Ikere-Ado road.

Umahi, who was not satisfied with the level of construction on the motorway, disclosed that the contractor handling the project had been invited for further instruction.

He stressed that the federal government will speed up the construction and rehabilitation of federal roads in both states.

According to him, the roads are crucial arteries connecting various parts of the country, pledging that his ministry would prioritise the prompt completion of the projects to foster the economic growth of the states.

The Work Minister reassured the state’s residents that the Federal Government’s dedication to enhancing road infrastructure nationwide remains unwavering.

He emphasised the government’s commitment to ramping up efforts to guarantee the timely completion of the projects as scheduled.

“These roads are major corridors to evacuate a lot of commercial produce from Benin to Lokoja and the southern part of the country.

“We have looked at the roads, and we are coming back. My team will give it all the desired attention.”
