Echocho condemn killings in Agojeju Odo, Omala LG

The Senator Representing Kogi East Senator Jibrin Echocho, has condemned the attack in Agojeju Odo in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi state, which left at least 19 persons dead, and burning of over 50 houses.

In a statement by his Media aid Mikail Ibrahim who described the development as worrisome and intolerable, said Senator Echocho had directed the relevant authority to visit the area and get to the root of the killings, insisting that the situation must be brought under control immediately to prevent further degeneration.

Echocho, while commiserating with the families of those killed, he said all citizens must be security conscious and avoid any conduct that would jeopardise peaceful coexistence in the state.

The lawmaker therefore urged the government and the security agencies, which have the mandatory constitutional responsibility of securing lives and property, to secure and protect law-abiding citizens and community of Ogojeju Odo and bring the culprits to justice.
