It’s the price you pay – Jesus opens up on Havertz taking his Arsenal spot

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has said losing your place is the price you pay if you play for a big club.

Jesus was responding to a question about Kai Havertz taking his place in Mikel Arteta’s team.

Havertz has found good form in the business end of the season, with Arsenal fighting for both the Premier League and Champions League.

The former Chelsea striker has scored in four successive league fixtures against Burnley, Newcastle, Sheffield United and Brentford.

Similarly, stellar displays against Brighton and Luton mean Havertz boasts nine goal contributions in his last seven games.

Jesus on Havertz taking his position, said: “If you see the way he works he’s unbelievable. That’s the price you pay if you want to be in a big club.

“You have to fight to play. If you are not playing, the best thing you have to do is try to help.

“I never complain.”
