The Acting Governor of Zamfara State, Malam Mani Malam Mummuni has reaffirmed the State Government’s steadfast stance against negotiating with bandits, vowing to pursue aggressive measures against banditry in the State.
Mummuni, who is the deputy governor, highlighted significant improvements in the security situation, emphasizing the notable progress in security operations.
He attributed it to the dedication and efforts of Governor Dauda Lawal and the security forces combating terrorism in the region.
This was contained in a Statewide broadcast on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr which he made in Gusau, the State capital on behalf of Governor Lawal.
He urged citizens to uphold the valuable lessons learnt during the holy month of Ramadan and to continue fervent prayers for the restoration of peace, harmony, and tranquility in the State.
The Ag. Governor commended the commitment of Governor Lawal in restoring normalcy to Zamfara State and solicited continued support and prayers from the people for the success of ongoing security efforts.
He revealed engagements with national security chiefs embarked upon by the Governor, including a recent visit to the State by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja prompted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directives following Governor Dauda’s advocacy.
