Kylian Mbappe equals Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Champions League record

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe on Tuesday equaled the club’s former striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s UEFA Champions League goalscoring record.

This was possible after Mbappe scored a brace for PSG against Barcelona in the second leg of their quarter-final clash.

The France captain scored a penalty in the 61st minute and then bagged his second from an error by Jules Kounde in the 89th minute, giving PSG a 6-4 aggregate win at full-time.

The 25-year-old now has 48 goals in 71 Champions League appearances, matching the goalscoring records of Ibrahimovic (48 in 124 games).

Mbappe will have another opportunity to surpass Ibrahimovic’s goalscoring record when PSG face Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final clash in the coming weeks.
