SDG Youth International Partners TITA, Unveils Interactive e-timetable for students and lecturers

In a bid to revolutionize the education system in Nigeria, SDG Youth International has unveiled a new technology that is set to transform students and educators interactions and improve on learning experience.

The Nigerian/African Regional Representative, SDG Youth International, Uzoh Ifeanyi, spoke at a press conference in Abuja, on Friday, ahead of the first Nigeria tertiary institutions conference in July 23-25, 2024.

He noted that the event is organized in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), Federal Ministry of Youth Development, National Universities Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE),

He said: “The conference will bring together stakeholders from all Tertiary Institutions in the Country to discuss and strategize on how to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the education sector.

“As part of the conference, we will be unveiling an Information Handbook on the SDGs, which will serve as a guide for tertiary institutions on how to incorporate the SDGs into their curriculum and practices. This handbook will provide practical tips and resources for educators and administrators to align their institutions with the global goals for sustainable development.

“In addition, we will also be introducing an Educational App called TITA that will revolutionize the way students and educators interact with information. This app will provide access to a wealth of educational materials, resources, and tools that will enhance learning and research in Tertiary Institutions across the Country. It is on this note that the Tita Universal Service, the developers of the Educational App (who are Female Students), and SDG Youth International, Nigeria Office will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today, to formalize this partnership.

“We believe that this Conference and the unveiling of the Information Handbook on the SDGs and the Educational App will play a significant role in advancing the Education Sector in Nigeria and contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. We invite all stakeholders in the Education Sector to join us at this important event and be a part of this transformative journey.”

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his recent educational policies, adding that he is on the right path towards the attainment of the SDG4.

“We want to use this medium to thank Mr. President for his commitment to the Educational Sector, especially the Student Loan Scheme, inclusion of Graduates of National Open Universities in the NYSC Scheme, the establishment of the National Education Data and approval for Skill Development for all Levels of Education, which includes Teachers’ Training.

“All these are well cut out Presidential directives and Policies geared towards the attainment of the SDG4”, he said.
