Man Utd will sack Ten Hag even if they win FA Cup – Shearer

Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, has insisted that Manchester United have “already made a decision” on Erik ten Hag’s future.

Shearer claims the Dutchman will be sacked even if he wins the FA Cup.

United are through to the final of the competition, following a hollow victory over Coventry City on penalties.

The Red Devils squandered a three-goal lead against the Championship side, before eventually winning 4-2 in the shoot-out.

Under Ten Hag, United have failed to surpass their achievements of finishing third in the league last season and winning the Carabao Cup.

As it stands, they look set to miss out on qualifying for the Champions League, having crashed out of the competition earlier this season.

Speaking on the Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer said: “I think the future of the Manchester United manager is already determined. Even if they win the FA Cup I think he’s gone.

“I don’t think it matters whether they win the FA Cup for his future. That may be sad, that may be wrong but I just get the feeling that winning the FA Cup is not going to be enough for him.

“When you look at the players, when you look at the attitude, where they are in the league and all those things: Where they want to be, where they want to go, in a quick time I think he’s already gone.”
