Dislodged criminals relocating to rural communities – Abia govt alerts citizens

Abia State government says it has observed that some suspected criminals who were dislodged from their hideouts by the state’s joint security team, Operation Crush, are now relocating to some other parts of the state, especially the rural communities.

The relocation, according to the state government, is to avoid possible detection by security agencies.

The alarm was sounded over the weekend by the Special Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Alex Otti, Navy Commander Mac Donald Uba (Rtd) in a press release.

He urged Abia residents to be mindful of the movement of such criminal elements in their vicinity.

The Special Adviser called on traditional rulers, Presidents-General, village heads and chairmen of villages to report any suspected criminal or persons of questionable character to the nearest police station or any other security agency.
