Gov Alia salutes Benue workers, promises to prioritise their welfare

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has saluted the workers of Benue State, acknowledging their significant contributions to the state’s development, as they celebrate this year’s May Day.

Aligning with the 2024 Labour Day theme, “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” the governor pointed out his administration’s efforts to prioritize workers’ welfare.

According to a statement issued by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Alia noted that his administration has renovated the State Secretariat and provided a dedicated 33KVA transformer to ensure a healthy and conducive work environment.

The governor assured workers of prompt salary payments, settlement of owed arrears, attention to promotions and allowances, and training and retraining opportunities.

Alia stated that workers’ issues will always be a prime concern for his government.

The governor urged workers to embrace transparency, compassion, accountability, and sincerity in their duties.

While wishing the workers a happy celebration, He encouraged them to support his efforts by delivering in their assigned roles and remaining apolitical at all times.
