Udeze: Don’t impose problematic assistants on Finidi

Former Super Eagles defender, Ifeanyi Udeze has warned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not to impose ambitious assistants on new head coach of the team, Finidi George.

Finidi is currently shopping for his assistants, with former internationals, Emmanuel Amuneke and Daniel Amokachi reportedly in contention for the position.

Amokachi and Amuneke also applied for the Super Eagles head coach role.

Udeze, a member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2022 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by Japan and South Korea, said imposing assistants on Finidi will be counter-productive.

“I don’t want to see an ex-player who will come and give Finidi problems,” Udeze told Brila FM.

“The NFF must not give him assistants who will try to take the job from him.

“He should instead be given a free hand to bring his assistants.”
