Air Peace must be protected by Nigerian government, says Mike Uyi

The President General, Global Peace Movement International, UK Dr Mike Uyi has described the alleged conspiracy among foreign carriers operating the Nigeria-UK route to frustrate the Air Peace as devilish.

Uyi in a statement on Tuesday in London was reacting to the Civil Aviation Authority in the United Kingdom reporting Air Peace to the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over airline’s alleged non-compliance with some safety regulations in the UK.

He said it is Immediately Air Peace announced its fares which have been found cheaper and more affordable for Nigerians, the foreign carriers, out of fears of losing their Nigerian, passengers to Air and since then Peace have engaged in price wars for survival.

“It’s up to Nigerians to decide whether or not these blood-sucking foreign airlines mean any good for them.

Again, he said If they can afford to charge other neighboring African countries cheaper fares and are now slashing their FARES to Nigerians because of competition from Air Peace, the question Nigerians need to ask is: “Why were they being charged higher fares than other Africans, and why the change of heart now?”

According to him, “they should not forget that these airlines are engaging in a bait-and-switch scheme. Moreover, they should not allow these conspirators to stifle competition, especially from Air Peace.

“It’s no secret that they would immediately revert to price-gouging Nigerians if they did not have competitors to contend with. A word is enough for the wise!

He further noted that We as a nation must support Air peace to beat the competition and win this suddenly heated aviation politics against international players like British Airways, Ethiopian Air, Qatar Air, Virgin Air and others.

“Our government owes it to Nigerians to step in and regulate properly. The Air Peace saga has shown us just how exploitative these foreign airlines have been to Nigerians. Imagine Air Peace pushing them to crash their Nigeria-London airfare from N18million to N5million”.

“Air Peace must be protected by the Nigerian government against this ‘Red Ocean Strategy’ deployed by foreign carriers who played in Nigeria’s air space”.
