‘A plausible scenario’ – Expert explains Man United, Napoli swap deal for Osimhen, Højlund

There is the possibility of a swap deal between Manchester United and Napoli, involving Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Højlund, according to Italian agent, Andrea D’Amico.

The Italian agent suggested that United could sign Osimhen through a swap deal that will involve Højlund moving to Napoli.

The new owner of the Red Devils, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is keen on changing their fortunes by bringing in high-profile players like Osimhen.

And the Red Devils are ready to let go of high-earning players that are deemed surplus to requirements to make way for new players.

Raphaël Varane and Anthony Martial would be leaving Old Trafford as free agents, while Casemiro could also be shown the exit door after a disastrous end to the campaign.

Højlund scored 16 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils in his first season at Old Trafford but there is no gainsaying that Osimhen will be a huge upgrade on the former Atalanta forward.

D’Amico told TEAMtalk, D’Amico that the Red Devils could be open to letting Rasmus Hojlund leave for Napoli while they get Osimhen in return.

“The future of Osimhen? It’s difficult to say now, we’re in May and it’s not a small deal so we’ll have to wait,” he said.

“He speaks English, the Premier League is the most important championship in the world. He doesn’t go to Barcelona and Real Madrid and if he doesn’t go to PSG or Bayern either, he will only be left with the Premier League.

“Osimhen-Hojlund exchange with United? It’s feasible, Manchester United respects the characteristics where Osimhen could play, in short, it’s a plausible scenario.”
