Just In: Governor Sule to pay June salary ahead of Sallah

…orders LGs to pay workers

Governor Abdullahi Sule has expressed readiness of his administration to pay salary of workers for the month of June, ahead of the Sallah celebration billed for Sunday, 16th June.

Governor Sule made this known while speaking during the empowerment programme organized by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Humanitarian Affairs and NGOs, Hon. Magret Elayo, on Tuesday.

This just as the Governor directed chairmen of the 13 local government areas of the state to use their savings to pay workers salaries before the Sallah celebration.

He said the coming Sallah provides the opportunity to test the veracity of the fact that local governments in Nasarawa State have savings in the bank.

“Now, that I am seeing a lot of local government chairmen, you won’t say it’s the ALGON chairman that is forcing you. I am happy that I am seeing all of you here. As you all know, Sunday is going to be Sallah day. You have enough savings in accounts that whether money has not come from Abuja, you can pay salaries.

“I want you to pay salaries to local government from your own savings in the bank. All the times we have been saying it, you have savings. This is the time to test that statement whether you have savings. Let us not wait for money to come from Abuja. The state will pay its own. We don’t have a problem with the state,” he stated.
