Two young men arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for kidnaping and killing a six-year-old boy have confessed to the act.

They told the police how they abducted the boy using what looked like a gun, collected N152,000 from the father, and went ahead to kill the boy.

The suspects, Husseini Suleiman, 21 and Muktar Mohammed, 20, said they had made some woods into a toy gun with which they frightened the household into letting them go with the boy, Ebuka Godwin.

They then demanded ransom money from the father.

The suspects who hail from Bashin village in Yoro LGA of Taraba State, committed the crime in Ganye LGA, a major town south of the Adamawa State capital.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje confirmed to newsmen that the suspects who were pursuing their Islamic education at Sheikh Dahiru Ganye School in Ganye, called Ebuka’s father after taking Ebuka away and demanded N10 million as ransom, as well as N152 000 which they said they needed to feed the abducted boy.

According to Nguroje, the suspects also told the police that after collecting the money for food, they strangulated their victim and buried him in a grave, left and bought new phones with part of the money they had at hand.
