Shearer hands England coach two changes to make ahead of Switzerland clash

Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has handed England manager, Gerath Southgate two changes to make ahead of the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 Round of 16 clash with Switzerland.

Recall that England recently progressed to the Euro 2024 last-8 after beating Slovakia 2-1 in the last-16 on Sunday.

Southgate’s side will now face Switzerland in the last-8 in the coming days.

The Swiss had defeated Italy 2-0 in the quarter-final encounter.

However, Shearer wants Southgate to play Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa and Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon in his starting XI against Switzerland.

Shearer said, as quoted by Metro:

“I would go with Konsa. He is the one who has been involved a little bit more so I would bring him in.

“I would keep Palmer in, I would bring Gordon in. I would keep Mainoo in because he’s done enough.”
