You can go – Atletico Madrid tells Morata

Atletico Madrid has told Spain captain, Alvaro Morata, he is free to leave the club if he so wishes.

Atletico President, Cerezo, said the club does not force players to stay or leave.

Morata, according to transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano, is set to join AC Milan.

AC Milan have informed Atlético of their plan to trigger the player’s €13 million release clause, while the striker has verbally agreed on four year deal.

Romano said that formal steps and a medical would follow this week.

Speaking about Morata’s exit, the club’s president said, according to Romano, “Atléti’s a club where if players want to stay, we are more than happy.

“Otherwise, if players don’t want to stay, they are allowed to leave.”
