St. Augustine of Hippo CMO announces passing of Late Sir James Obotu

The President, Catholic Men Organization of St. Augustine of Hippo Parish, Dutse Sagbagyi in Abuja Mr. Augustine Ato has announced the death of it’s member, Sir James Obotu.

Sir Obotu passed on after on Monday 15 July, 2024 after a protracted illness.

Ato on the CMO’s WhatsApp platform said it is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing onto glory of our beloved brother, Sir James Obotu. His dedication and service to our organization and the Lord will never be forgotten.

He said as we mourn the loss of our brother, we take comfort in the fond memories and the impact he had on our lives. Let us come together to celebrate his life and offer support to his family during this difficult time.

Ato in the message expressed the church’s condolences to the family of the late Obotu and the entire the entire parishioners of St. Augustine of Hippo Parish and the entire Catholic Church in Abuja.

According to him, the late Obotu was known for his commitment to the work of God and his advocacy for social justice and equity in the society. He will be remembered as a great Christian leader who inspired many.

“May Sir James Obotu’s soul rest in peace, and may God grant his family the strength and comfort they need during this time.

“Let us continue to pray for the repose of his soul and for the comfort of his family”, Ato prayed.

Untill his death, Sir James Obotu is a member of the Knights of St. John International (KSJ), a dedicated member of the Secret Heart of Jesus, Patron to the Youths, member SS Peter and Paul Idoma and the Immediate past Vice Chairman of the Parish Pastoral Council in St. Augustine of Hippo. He is married and blessed with children.
