Zamfara Govt adjusts ban on tricycles, motorcycles

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has granted the request of business people in the state to adjust the ban on tricycle and motorcycle riders from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm because of their night businesses.

The business men and women had complained that their businesses thrive mostly at the night, noting that the ban was seriously affecting their livelihood amid the economic hardship in the country.

Following the complaint, the State Government at its recent Executive Council meeting adjusted the ban to 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, noting the traders will be able to finish their daily legitimate engagement within the period.

Recall that the Governor Dauda administration had adopted several strategies to address the issue of banditry bedevilling the entire state.

The State Government recently banned motorcycles and tricycles from carrying bread in large quantities, believing that they were supplying the breads to bandits ravaging the state.

The Zamfara government also banned sale and purchase of petrol in gallons, warning that anybody caught would be regarded as a bandit.
