Flood destroys over 200 houses in Katsina community

Heavy rainfall resulting from flooding has submerged over 250 houses in Natsinta community, Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Newsmen gathered that although no life was lost, several people sustained various degrees of injuries, as some are currently receiving medical attention in hospitals.

It was also reported that more than 1000 persons, including women and children were affected by the disaster.

The lawmaker representing the Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mustafa Yusuf, said that the level of destruction was too much.

The State lawmaker assured the victims that the State House of Assembly would deliberate on the matter, with a view to enabling the State government to come to their aid.

He also appealed to stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations, politicians, and members of the business community, to assist the victims.
