Gunmen kill one, abduct two in Nasarawa

Gunmen have killed one man and abducted two others in the Gadabuke community of Toto Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

The victim, identified as Garba Yakubu, was shot during the invasion of the residence of a man named Agaba Yakubu on Monday.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Nasarawa State, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Lafia.

He reported that the attack occurred in the early hours of August 25, 2024, around 2:00 am.

According to him, the unknown gunmen stormed the residence, shot Garba Yakubu, and kidnapped two others whose identities have not yet been disclosed.

“Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer of Toto Division immediately mobilized operatives to the scene.

“The corpse of the victim was recovered and later released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites,” Nansel stated.

The police spokesman added that the Commissioner of Police has reinforced the Toto Police Division and initiated a search and rescue operation to locate the kidnapped individuals.
