Anyone thinking of becoming president in 2027 not serious – Sam Amadi

Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has suggested that anyone dreaming of becoming president in 2027 is not serious.

Amadi’s statement comes after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the All Progressives Congress, APC’s Monday Okpebholo as winner of the Edo State governorship election.

“Anyone thinking of being the President of Nigeria in 2027 and not thinking of disbanding this @inecnigeria is not serious,” he posted on X.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had also rejected the result declared by the INEC.

Tony Iyoha, PDP’s state collation agent for the party alleged that the results from two local councils of Oredo and Ikpoba-Okha were deliberately delayed to alter the figures.

Before now, Amadi, former Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, had argued that the INEC was the problem.

He then stated that neither of the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Labour Party, LP, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively, was currently doing anything to change the structure and culture of election management.
