Enyimba head coach, Yemi Olanrewaju has explained the importance of his side’s victory over Akwa United.
The People’s Elephant won the battle of former champions 1-0 in Aba on Wednesday.
Substitute, Austin Onyemaechi, who made his debut for the Aba giants in the encounter, netted the winning goal 12 minutes from time.
Enyimba moved to third position on the log following the win.
Olanrewaju confessed the visitors made things difficult for his team in the encounter.
“We knew it wasn’t gonna be easy,….but the most important thing was getting the job done,” he told the club’s media after the game.
Enyimba will host Katsina United in a matchday five encounter in Aba on Sunday.
