He’s really impressed me – Alan Shearer hails Arsenal forward

Premier League legend, Alan Shearer has said that Arsenal forward, Kai Havertz, has really impressed him this season.

This was following the German’s brilliant performance in Arsenal’s 3-1 home victory against Southampton on Saturday.

Havertz scored for the sixth consecutive time at the Emirates Stadium over the weekend.

The 25-year-old scored a brilliant equalizer for Arsenal in the 58th minute, after Cameron Archer had put Southampton in front against the run of play.

The former Chelsea star’s goal over the weekend took his overall tally for the season to six goals across all competitions.

Shearer told the Rest is Football podcast that the former Chelsea player is now a “real center-forward.”

“Yeah, I think he’s really impressing me in terms of his performances and goals.

“He has been a real centre-forward, not just his goals, but his hold-up play, what he’s doing for the team, bringing players into the game, challenging for balls in the air when perhaps he knows he might not win them but trying to make it awkward for defenders, so I have been really really impressed with him this season,” he said.
