I generate 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity – Davido’s dad, Deji Adeleke

Adedeji Adeleke, father of popular singer Davido, has claimed that he generates 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity.

The billionaire businessman made the claim while speaking at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s General Conference Annual Council 2024 on October 15th.

“I’m in the electricity business, I own power plants. I generate about 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity. I’ve Chinese engineering companies that work for me. I am building the biggest thermal power plant in Nigeria to be launched in January 2025. It’s a 1250MW power plant,” he said.

Davido has also previously claimed that his family was responsible for distributing electricity to a major portion of Nigeria.

Appearing on an American podcast, ‘Business Untitled’ in April, Davido claimed that his family owns four power plants, which significantly contribute to Nigeria’s energy needs.
